A year later, Teradata built a groundbreaking system for Wal-Mart, the first of its kind to manage over a terabyte of data. This period was one of significant growth, but the company's trajectory was about to change again. In 2007, NCR spun off Teradata into an independent, publicly traded company. This allowed Teradata to focus squarely on data and analytics. Since then, the company has navigated the seismic shift from on-premises hardware to the cloud. Today, Teradata is focused on its Vantage platform, a hybrid, multi-cloud data platform that helps organizations deploy artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
