Recursively self-improving AI lab for scientific discovery MoreLess
Inherent (Inherent Labs) is a London Public Benefit Corporation AI lab building Faraday, a system for human-led scientific curiosity combined with recursively self-improving algorithmic exploration — aiming to write a playbook for AI-native science rather than plug AI into traditional methods alone. Co-founders include Tantum Collins, Edward Hughes and Louis Kirsch (DeepMind alumni; Collins also worked on AI policy at the White House under President Biden) and Kaloyan Aleksiev (Reka AI / Microsoft); Matt Clifford advises. Operating as an independent deep-tech research entity, Inherent directs capital to foundational research, compute and human–machine discovery paradigms rather than immediate SaaS monetisation. Emerging from stealth in May 2026, Inherent raised a $50 million seed co-led by Index Ventures and Radical Ventures. Sources: Tech.eu 29 May 2026; inherentlabs.ai.
