EFFECT Photonics is a semiconductor company that designs and manufactures photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for the optical communications industry. This strategic shift was made to meet the rigorous demands of major network equipment manufacturers. The company's clients consist primarily of these manufacturers and data center operators who require scalable and cost-effective solutions for network upgrades. The company has progressed through several stages of growth, supported by significant investment. It has raised a total of $174 million over 12 funding rounds. A notable Series D round concluded in June 2025, securing $62 million to accelerate product development and commercialization. A key strategic milestone was the 2021 acquisition of a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) team from Viasat, which brought crucial signal processing expertise in-house.
